Privacy Policy

Who we are

CareerVani (“we”, “us”) is an independently operated career-tools service based in India. For any privacy question, data request, or complaint, contact us at support.careervani@gmail.com. We aim to respond within 7 working days.

What we collect

• Account data: your Google account email address and display name, received through Firebase Authentication when you sign in.
• Content you provide: the career details you enter or upload (work history, education, skills, certifications, awards, job descriptions and instructions) and the AI outputs generated from them.
• Usage data: per-feature generation counts used to enforce quotas, and privacy-safe product analytics events. Analytics events never contain resume text.
• Payment data: order, subscription and payment identifiers plus payment status received from Razorpay. We never receive or store your card number, CVV, or UPI credentials.
• Referral data: your referral code and which account redeemed it, so bonus credits can be granted correctly.

How we use it

• To generate the content you request. Your inputs are sent from our servers to our AI routing provider, OpenRouter, which forwards them to the model that serves your request, solely to produce your output.
• To enforce free-tier limits, fair-use caps and credit balances.
• To create, verify and manage subscriptions and one-time purchases.
• To detect and prevent abuse, fraud, and automated scraping of our APIs.
• To improve the product using aggregate, non-identifying metrics.

Our legal basis for processing is the performance of our contract with you (delivering the service you asked for) and our legitimate interest in keeping the service secure and financially sustainable.

What we never do

• We never sell your personal data or your resume content.
• We never use your resume content to target advertising.
• We never write your resume text, authentication tokens, or payment signatures into our application logs. Our logger redacts these patterns automatically.

Storage, retention & security

Your data is stored in Google Firebase (Cloud Firestore). Database security rules deny access by default and restrict every document to the account that owns it; entitlement fields such as your plan and credit balance can only be written by our server. All traffic uses HTTPS. API keys and payment secrets are held in Google Secret Manager and are never included in the app you install or the website you visit.

We keep your generations until you delete them or delete your account. Payment and subscription records are retained for as long as required for tax, accounting and dispute-resolution purposes.

Your rights

• Access your data: everything you have generated is visible in the History screen.
• Delete a generation: History → open the item → Delete.
• Delete your account: Profile → Delete account. This removes your generations, anonymises your profile, revokes your sessions and disables sign-in.
• Correction, export, or objection: email support.careervani@gmail.com and we will action verified requests.

Sub-processors and third parties

• Google Firebase — authentication, database, hosting and app integrity checks — privacy
• OpenRouter — AI model routing for content generation — privacy
• Razorpay — payment processing and subscription billing — privacy
• Google Analytics — aggregate website analytics, only if enabled on this site — privacy
• Google AdMob — advertising on the free tier, only if and when we enable it — privacy

These providers may process data outside India, including in the United States and the European Union, under their own contractual and security commitments.

Cookies and similar technologies

Firebase Authentication stores a session token in your browser so that you stay signed in; this is strictly necessary for the service to work. If website analytics is enabled, Google Analytics may set measurement cookies. We do not use advertising cookies on this website.

Children

CareerVani is not directed at children under 16 and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will remove it.

Changes to this policy

We will update this page and revise the date above whenever this policy changes. Material changes will also be announced in the app.
